(solo) (2003)
An
exploration in movement of the enigma of Judy Garland
presented by the irony of her on-stage and off-stage
lives as chronicled in films, biographies and notoriety.
The sound track includes clips from audiotaped recordings
of the late great icon intended for an autobiography
that was never published that blatantly reveal her troubles
with substance abuse as well as her anger and frustration.
This portrait intends in its irony to present the paradox
that was Judy Garland and pokes fun at the legacy of
the great inflatable Hollywood dream as paralleled by
her most renown role singing Over the Rainbow in the
film the Wizard of Oz.
Music:
sound collage of excerpts of Judy Garland speaking and
singing including Over the Rainbow
Running length: 8 minutes
